The abbey of Val Notre-Dame, founded in 1125, was well endowed by the local lay lords. Thanks to two documents, written in 1362 and 1464, the economic situation of this monastery at the beginning and end of the Hundred Years’ War can be compared. The identification and precise location of the place names allow us to reflect on the appropriation of the territory by a Cistercian abbey.
