Ernesto Rossi and the German stage in the second half of the nineteenth century Teatro grandattorico facing the emergence of modern staging practices

In the late 50’s of the Nineteenth century, the great Italian actor Ernesto Rossi began to establish and interchange between the Italian and the German stage. In many tours over the years he deeply influenced the development of German acting and vice versa, knowing the local theatre scene, inspired him repertoire choices and reflections on the renewal of Italian theatre.
