The philosophical tradition has always tried to define what “friendship” actually should be: an idea, a concept, a kind of behaviour or a virtue. Since the beginning in Plato all these attempts constrained friendship in a comparison with sympathy, love or the primordial good. But all neglected its very relations with time.
