Jean-Claude Pirotte, who died on 24 May 2014, was a poet, prose writer, painter, and editor. Defining himself as a ‘Sunday painter and a Saturday writer’, he was the author of a strange oeuvre, in which drunkenness surpassed sobriety, the flippant bypassed the serious, and freedom was the ultimate value.
