This is a reflection on Soie by Alessandro Barrico, in which silence – a constant literary strategy – must be thought about in the plural, and in a fruitful dialogue with diverse dichotomies (noise/ murmur; language/ silence; writing/ recital). Both symptom and result, silence functions like a fabric which unites but can also separate characters.
