Parrhesia and Ethics in Albinean Discourse The Consistency of the Tragiques’ Enunciation and Poetic Agenda in Question

Following in the wake of numerous works on Albinean discourse, this article studies parrhesia in Les Tragiques. Described by Foucault as the “courage of truth,” parrhesia is present at the different enunciative levels of the poem and is employed in a political and religious context, adhering to one sole ethical code. Yet there exists a possible contradiction between parrhesia and poetry, with the aesthetic concerns at play in the poetic form and in fiction, present at different levels, muddying the Albinean ethical code with ambiguity.
