Abstract: For the last ten years, our fellow citizens, in order to protect animals and the planet, have been invited to adopt a vegetarian diet at home as well as in the canteen. This invitation is increasingly taking the form of an injunction,publicized by a group of proselytizing people (actors, sportsmen...). How is vegetarianism a factor in protecting animals and the planet? Is excluding meat from one's diet a political way to support a social ecological project?
