Commercialization of agricultural products in short circuit: analysis of the French case

  • Abstract: Selling through local distribution channels is a kind of marketing approach that reflects the demands of public policies as well as of consumers. An econometric analysis is done, based on a French agricultural census from 2010, of what determines this commercial strategy. It becomes apparent that sales through local distribution channels are made by relatively young farmers who are located at small farms and who favor permanent jobs.
