Abstract: From La Lune dans le puits (2013) to Dans ma zup (2019), François Beaune’s oeuvre enacts the logic of the remake. This article examines the gathering of “true stories” that make up the writer’s raw material, and underlines the stakes of the remake in his works, as he takes up Paul Auster’s True Tales of American Life, and offers, on and off the page, restitutions of collected stories. Between recollection and repetition, the remake reflects key changes underway in contemporary literary writing.
