Abstract: Charles Nodier (1780-1844), an illustrious storyteller and one of the fathers of French Romanticism, was also this novelist whom Hugo and Balzac admired. From Les Proscrits (1802) to Mademoiselle de Marsan (1832), we go through the pages of this little-known literature, which presents its titles without yet saying its name.
