Abstract: Drieu la Rochelle connects the decline of the modern world to the loss of the “mysticical sense”. This world view partakes of a fascist vision, illustrated in the stories and the themes of his novels. This novels, which are about the quest of characters who seek the “mystical sense” in order to reach the divine, display a mystic of violence and sport. Drieu la Rochelle ends up valorising the leader and the artist, who both are in possession of this mystical sense.
