Abstract: Songs distinguish themselves from poetry in numerous ways, but this does not mean they do not have much in common. Songs are often a reflection of their societies at a given moment in time, and certain periods have favored songs with titles that managed to capture the spirit of the age. This appparent light-handedness is occasionally only apparent, and one must not confuse simplicity with oversimplication. Interpretation and arrangement are also components of a song, and we should not be afraid to hum something that is also a part of us.
