Abstract: There are many differences between Niccolò Tommaseo’s explicitly autobiographical texts : Memorie poetiche, Memorie politiche and Memorieprivate. While these differences are strong from a stylistic point of view, the points of convergence are clear from the point of view of contents : when comparing the three works, it becomes clear that Tommaseo used the Memorie private as a draft for the Memorie politiche and Memoriepoetiche, which were both conceived and designed for publication.
