Abstract: Rachilde appreciated Léon Bloy and devoted numerous reviews to his works. What interest could the author of Monsieur Vénus find in the books of a Catholic imprecator like Léon Bloy ? This article examines these reviews, which make the link between two intellectual and literary trajectories that everything seems to oppose. It brings out what Rachilde expected from literature: to show authors providing examples and lessons in honesty by talking about themselves.
