Abstract: Using an interdisciplinary approach, this article examines the comic writing strategies of Ali Bader in al-Kaḏḏābūn yaḥṣulūn ‘alā kulli šay.’ Contrary to the findings of several researchers, the value of these works does not lie in the simple process of (re)writing the official history of Iraq, but rather in the constant work of creating and constructing a transcultural symbolic fiction, built on an inclusive and pluralistic use of humor.
