Abstract: The 1980s and 1990s saw the evolution of the epilinguistic debate on French in Quebec, surrounding the question of the norm of French. The debate surrounding the linguistic and social choices of the time are underlying the construction of dictionaries. This text presents a reminder of the various criticisms and remarks of the linguist Claude Poirier addressed to the Dictionnaires Le Robert as well as the milestones of his own dictionary projects.
