Abstract: Unlike dictionaries of a bilingual nature which traditionally respect the princile of symmetry in the treatment of the source language and the target language, the Bilingual Arabic-French, French-Arabic Dictionary by Daniel Reig (= As-Sabil) has the peculiarity of responding to an original configuration characterized by asymmetry. We shall question this lexicographic choice in the light of two fundamental principles in this field: consultability and readability.
