Abstract: In this work, presentation of conception of semantic networks which is based on the idea that the lexical unit - unit of the third articulation of language - occupies a strategic place in the linguistic system, place from which are built the fundamental semantic relationships. Illustration of the reticular lexicon structuring by way of the word “democracy” and its lexical and semantic field as it is handled in the dictionary.
