Abstract: We aim to analyze our experience of translating Valéry’s Notebooks, which began with the “Poetics” section of the Cahiers Pléiade edition leading to a reflection on Valéry’s thought on translation and on the poetic act as translation and modulation between heterogeneous ways of seeing. In this context, we put forward the hypothesis of a Valérian anthropology of writing set in an anthropology of the writing in the Cahiers.
