Abstract: The second volume of Gherardi’s Théâtre italien comprises ten plays written by Delosme de Montchesnay, Fatouville, Regnard, and l’Abbé Bordelon for Comédie-Italienne at the end of the seventeenth century. The comedic skill combined with the satirical take on the flaws of French society creates a truly pleasurable reading experience.
