Abstract: In her literary debut Änderungschneiderei Los Milagros (2008) the Argentinean Author María C. Barbetta proposes a new reading of Circe’s Greek myth and its different representations in subsequent literary and artistic works. The aim of the article is to examine the revision of this female character in Barbetta’s prose work on the basis of its intertextual connections with Homer’s Odyssey and Julio Cortázar’s Circe. It also analyses the existing autobiographical elements in Barbetta’s novel.
