  • Abstract: The phenomena of translation are not part of Roland Barthes’ scientific concerns. Nevertheless, his name appears quite often in some essays in translation theory and practice. This is because Barthes elaborates in his semiotic essays certain concepts that are very useful for the study of translation, contributing, in our opinion, to the study of intersemioticity, a phenomenon of cultural communication that seems to be a fruitful addition to semiotics and translation studies today.
