Abstract: The article presents the translation challenges of Jean Bollack’s critical hermeneutics. This method of translation recommends that the philological examination bridging the distance between work and translation be reinforced by critical interpretation. Translation and interpretation are one, and the reading of the source text requires its historization which, without ignoring the moment of its creation, aims to know its subsequent representations and becomes the condition for its interpretation.
