Abstract: This volume brings together the first five plays written by Corneille, four comedies and one tragicomedy, performed between 1629 and 1633. Re-transcribed in their original versions, these plays are presented and illuminated by the editors in an effort to demonstrate both their persistent scenic dynamism, and the spark of their writing.
