Abstract: Paris haunts Jean Giraudoux’s war writing. It is both a spatial point of reference (a place of origin or place of work; a starting point or destination for physical or virtual journeys) and a temporal one (a place of simultaneity between front and rear); a point of comparison for the narrator-character, a memory or dream for the narrator-protagonist and his brothers in arms, and finally, a cultural heritage that deserves to be celebrated.
