Abstract: While Giraudoux’s native Limousin occupies a significant place in his work, he nevertheless spent most of his life in Paris, set nearly all his novels there, and led a campaign to give “urban rights” to its inhabitants and those of its banlieues. That’s why this special issue on Paris was necessary, in order to explore the place of the capital in the author’s life, work, and civic engagement.
