Abstract: Marcel Achard, Louis Jouvet, and Jean Giraudoux participated in a film produced on the eve of the Second World War: Untel père et fils (1940–45), directed by Julien Duvivier. This patriotic saga, cowritten by Achard and starring Jouvet, was commissioned by the Commissariat général à l’information headed by Giraudoux, who, in this context, gave up the complexity of his plays in favor of a propagandistic style shared by his radio speeches.
