  • Abstract: Like many interwar writers, Jean Giraudoux was not only enthusiastic about but also inspired by Chaplin’s films. He not only refers to the filmmaker and his character Charlot, but he also uses the synopsis of The Kid to write an episode in a novel, and some scenes seem to be adapted from Chaplin’s films. The aim of this article is to explore the worlds of the writer and the filmmaker in order to highlight their similarities and differences.
