Abstract: This first volume brings together ten of Louis de Boissy’s plays, including three of his popular comedies, as well as the tragedy Admète et Alceste, and unpublished texts based on manuscripts. Far from the author known as a pauvre diable, we unveil a nuanced playwright who played a role in the Enlightenment battles against obscurantism.
