Abstract: The Memoirs are an exercise in self-knowledge that reflects an anthropological outlook. This temporal vision of the human being draws on Marguerite’s philosophical knowledge, as well as her conception of history and of politics. As a good humanist, she put the considerable learning she had to the test of lived experience, as well as to that of writing, to a first-hand experience of learning. The interaction of these different types of knowledge and their interaction with writing makes her identity.
