Abstract: Translation genetics as an emerging discipline should draw upon the existing knowledge built around the author’s draft and writing process, by textual genetics (e.a. the body of doctrine developed within ITEM), linguistics, psycholinguistics and by translation studies applied to the translation process. An epistemological overview should facilitate access for new research to a foundation of ready-to-use theories, concepts and methods.
