Abstract: The article focuses on the development of Spanish poet Pedro Salinas’ love psychology through the parallel reading of some poems and letters, written for his American “muse”: Katherine Whitmore. Their encounter took place in Madrid in July 1932. Thanks to this deep love, Pedro Salinas will reach the heights of twentieth-century poetry.
