Abstract: Meigret’s translation activity influenced his conception of the French phrase. He puts into practice an approach based on principles of order and organization, construction, syntaxis immanente, and observation of phenomena. He follows a «Thomistic» path that admits variations while assuming the choice of the best of all. Meigret proposes a linguistic re-generation by reference to the “escoutant” model of the spoken word, and by the model of the written sign.
