The Infini Romancier evokes the total novel, constructed through a stacking process in which each part creates a world of its own in turn. But can one give a text constructed from multiple snippets to a reader without loss? Or does this exercise only make sense at the theatre, where the presence of the actor reminds the spectator that this is a dialogue between humans? Must we conclude that the infinite novelist can only exist if he is a playwright?
