  • Abstract: Marie Leprince de Beaumont introduced the Spanish people to educational debates which already existed in France. The pedagogical obsession of Spanish Enlightenment scholars led to an avalanche of texts concerning women’s education in the 18th century. Leprince de Beaumont became famous in Spain first and foremost through the translations of her works which were widely circulated and read in the 18th century.
