De Jude à Thomas
À propos de Thomas l’Obscur

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Roman mystique, mystiques romanesques aux xxe et xxie siècles
  • Author: Panter (Marie)
  • Abstract: By comparing Thomas L'Obscur, Blanchot’s first novel, to one of his possible models, Jude the Obscure, by Thomas Hardy, this article aims at showing how Blanchot turns the mystical experience of Hardy’s character into the centre of his novel. This experience becomes for Blanchot that of the novel’s reader, who is led to an experience of negative (as Blanchot is fascinated with negative theology).
