  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Raconter en prose. xive-xvie siècle

  • Abstract: The romance Milles et Amys, anonymous mise en prose of the text in alexandrine Amis et Amille, only exists in printed form. This essay focuses on its two oldest editions: the undated Antoine Vérard’s one and Michel Le Noir’s one (1507). The comparison between these two texts, apparently very similar, is essential to the preparation of a critical edition; it shows significant differences demonstrating that Vérard’s edition, whose text is the most complete, probably preceded Le Noir’s one.
