Les éditions de romans de Jean II Trepperel

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Raconter en prose. xive-xvie siècle
  • Author: Cappello (Sergio)
  • Abstract: The article surveys the specimens of the editions of the romances published à l’enseigne de l’Écu de France. Mostly undated and sometimes without the printer’s name, they were issued by the members of the Trepperel family in the first third of the 16th century, and their analysis allows an appreciation of their fictional production as well as the attribution to Jean II Trepperel of a number of editions usually ascribed to Jean I. Jean II turns out to be the most active among the Parisian printers at the end of the 1520s.
