La langue de l’autre dans le Regnault de Montauban bourguignon

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Raconter en prose. xive-xvie siècle
  • Author: Baudelle-Michels (Sarah)
  • Abstract: The article analyses the type of language that the alleged author of Regnault de Montauban, probably David Aubert, assigns to the other. Many references to polyglossism are added by the compiler, who even inserts some short sentences in Greek. The attention constantly paid to the linguistic variety tells us less about the compiler’s cultural degree than about the state of mind of a Burgundian intellectual grown in a multilingual state.
