  • Abstract: Here are analysed Eudes de Châteauroux’s three sermons that he adressed the Parisian people; in the first one he exhorted the people to pray for the end of the flooding of the city ; the two other (March 18th 1229), where he took sides with the students victims of police repression after incidents that had taken place during the carnival. These spectacular spoken interventions, occurring at the heart of current events in Paris, show performative aspects with the underlying elements of dialogue between the listeners and the speaker that may refer to current events, making sense only in the light of biblical interpretation, following the typological method.
