« There is real vision in Les Misérables », Rimbaud says in one of the so-called « Seer » letters. This judgement perhaps explains why the young poet sometimes prevailed upon Hugo’s epic novel as an intertextual resource and poetic catalyst. Of course, Rimbaud’s corpus later becomes a source of dynamic inspiration for many writers. Such is the case of Patricia Castex Menier and Solirenne’s Rimbaud design, which the present article also considers in the light of Rimbaldian intertexualities.
