L’Improvisation polyphonique à la Renaissance

In the Renaissance, spontaneous creation occupied an essential place in daily musical practices. With the help of varied sources (archival, theoretical, musical), this work proposes an evaluation of modalities of polyphonic improvisation from the fifteenth century to the middle of the seventeenth century.
