Following in the footsteps of Philippe Descola’s Par-delà nature et culture, this volume examines man’s relationship with nature through the prism of literature as well as the knowledge and philosophy that inform it. The first part of the book presents general and theoretical issues, while the second part is inspired by more monographic studies. The final articles examine how writers and institutions assess the relationship between humans and nature.
