Artaud builds a community in literature and in misfortune with Nerval. It is this community that allows him to displace the reading he makes of the poet, by offering an interpretation that privileges the musicality of the sonnets against a hermeneutics that imposes a judgment on the one who wrote for no longer write under the influence of the latter. According to Artaud, Nerval engages literature at the heart of what it should be: song of the drama of the mind and the – possible – enjoyment of the body.
