O divino Sainete (1888) by Manuel Curros Enríquez is a poem, in tercets, about the protagonist’s journey to the seat of the Papacy in Rome. The reference of the text is the Divine Comedy, which Curros uses as the model for his own invectives against the Church, Politics and Criticism. The aim of the article is to present the poem and examine the typology of the re-use of Dante’s material with regard to the themes of the Galician poet.
