Since the turn of the eighteenth century, translations of Bossuet’s writings have marked the presence of his thought in Italy: for example, the Italian translation of the Relation sur le quiétisme dates from 1698. Over the course of the eighteenth century, the spread of Bossuet’s works was attested in Sicily. In the nineteenth century meanwhile, Bossuet notably influenced Manzoni. Since 2002, translations of Traité de la concupiscence, Traité du libre arbitre, and Traité sur la connaissance de Dieu et de soi-même have appeared.
