Influenced by Amyraut and the school of Saumur, Louis Tronchin distanced himself from the Calvinist orthodoxy which reigned in Geneva, distinguished by its critique of scholasticism. Although still attached to Calvin, he was an important figure in the evolution of the Protestant world in the second half of the seventeenth century.
