Dictionaries are synonymous with education. Yet they are hardly ever mentioned in official guidelines. Given such frequent usage, pedagogical and academic reflections on them are altogether insufficient, if not absent. A “lexical pedagogy” (A. Rey) is needed, as well as a pedagogy of grammar, which could have a huge impact on the education of young people.
