In this bildungsroman, the narrator describes the exhilaration that speech and contact with nature created in him from early childhood. This univocal experience, however, reveals its anchoring in the reality of sexuality and death, revealing the disharmony that affects the body. The narcissistic confinement represented by Franchesc Odripano’s poetic words gives way, in the end, to an encounter with the loss caused by war, which highlights the body reduced to the state of an object.
