Xenophon’s Helléniques continue the history of the Peloponnesian War by Thucydides. The first part covers the period stretching from the autumn of 411 to the fall of Athens in 404. Then the author endeavors to relate the significant events of the history of Greece up to the battle of Mantinea (362).
